Bio – Tavia Kidwell

Tavia moved to McKinney, Texas in 2003. She is married with two children. As Regional Director and part-Owner, Tavia is very passionate about dance and remains active in directing, teaching and assisting classes and competition dance companies. Tavia believes it is vital to be present in her instructors, students and parents’ lives. She desires to infuse her passion, creativity and love of dance into every studio location with the help of her amazing instructors and staff!

Beginning with Classical Ballet at the age of three, Tavia trained extensively in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Swing. She discovered at the outset of her younger years that the fine arts were her inspiration and calling, and now deeply desires to maintain the purity, beauty and positive expression of creative dance in and throughout the art world. Tavia also trained at a fine arts regional occupational program in Laguna Beach, California, and knows firsthand how important a great environment is in helping foster, influence and develop positive self-esteem in the life of the dancer.

Tavia’s early years of dance also include auditions for numerous drama, dance and musical productions and commercials. She has traveled and performed throughout the U.S. with a Hip Hop troupe, competed in a Los Angeles beauty pageant, and appeared as a cheerleader in a national 7-Up Commercial. Tavia was a cheerleader in her pre-teen and high school years and was selected to set routines and judge competitions for high schools in California and Georgia.

While in Georgia, Tavia became a professional AFL cheerleader for the Georgia Force and began to choreograph half-time and sideline routines. She was employed as a choreographer for Dacula High School.

Upon moving to Texas, and during the 2004 – 2006 seasons, Tavia became a professional NFL Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, performing with Destiny’s Child, Big-N-Rich, Sheryl Crow, Journey, and Wayne Newton. Her work with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders includes extensive travel, performances for charities and U.S. military troops. She was also a cheerleader extra in the Disney movie Invincible.

Tavia has been featured on ESPN for the making of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader calendar and season one of CMT’s Making the Team. During this time, Tavia was chosen to pose for Maxim Magazine as one of the NFL’s premier cheerleaders and was featured as the month of June for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader calendar. Her face has been seen on billboards, magazines, and in various other print ads. Tavia also spent time working with the Frisco Thunder IFL cheerleaders and was a Hip Hop dance club promoter.

Tavia has taught for over a decade, instructing Pre Combo classes, Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Cheer, Drill and competitive dance teams. Still, Tavia continues to further her education in dance by attending premier-level workshops & classes for owners and instructors throughout the United States.

Tavia’s greatest desire for the studio is that every child feel loved and accepted, while being empowered to discover their own passion in life and dance!
